We saw how people were too relaxed about God’s boundaries. Now they’re too strict.
God told the Jews “Do not work on the seventh day, it’s a day of rest (Sabbath).” Since then, Jewish leaders had made a lot of rules to keep people from working. By Jesus’ time, the day of rest had turned into the day of restrictions.
Instead of telling Jesus to stop, the Jewish leaders should have offered a meal. They should have been glad to see someone healed.
Watch as Jesus points them to the spirit of God’s boundaries, not just the letter.
