God’s boundaries keep us safe, like a wall between us and a busy highway. Yet our first response is often “How can I get around this?” We focus on the letter of the law and look for loopholes.
Jesus brings out the spirit of God’s commands.
In today’s passage, Jesus says “Don’t sin. Don’t even imagine sinning.” This week, we went back to the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. Jesus never sinned, never crossed God’s boundaries.
But what about us? If we do sin, does God give up on us? Or is there a way back? Let’s see how Jesus responds.
