Story of a widow tells us to keep praying, and genuine prayer gets right with God.

Is God ever tired of listening to us? How much should we pray before we give up? Jesus has a couple of stories about that.

Be persistent with God. He is the opposite of that unjust, uncaring judge in the story.

Be honest with God, and with yourself. The Pharisee thought he had it all together, but he was just fooling himself. The tax collector was genuine. He knew he didn’t deserve to be right with God (justified), so he pleaded for mercy. And he got what he asked for!
