Who is Jesus? This man who speaks with such authority? Who claims God listens to us and cares about us? Who responds to anyone and cares about everyone?
Who is Jesus? Jesus asks for the world’s answers, and he hears them. Then he asks his followers to answer. Simon Peter speaks up, and Jesus calls him blessed by God!
But when Jesus explains what’s going to happen soon, Peter doesn’t like what he’s hearing. Peter speaks up again. This time Jesus calls him the devil’s advocate!
So, who is Peter? Satan or saint? He’s normal. Peter is learning that following Jesus means accepting what Jesus says, the bad and the good of it. The happiness and the hurt.
