Day 47: Onlookers mock. Three hours of darkness. Jesus dies, centurion’s statement

Even as Jesus dies, people say what they think of him. But does the Roman officer agree?

This isn’t the end of Jesus’ story, but it sure feels that way.

His enemies say what they think of him.

This takes us back to the beginning of this journey with Jesus. When he explained that our circumstances don’t reveal if we’re blessed or cursed. It’s how we live.

Even how Jesus died prompted the heathen Roman officer to say “he was the Son of God!”

We know that Jesus’ enemies thought he deserved a horrible death. Next we’ll see how his friends respond.
